What Is Your Biggest Motivation?

Every day is a new adventure. Some days, I’m frozen not being able to leave my bed, much less my house. I feel like an empty shell, just staring into space, while occasionally drifting off. I think my brain just goes into overdrive from thinking about everything that has to be done for the day. While other days, I can jump right out and face the world, without even thinking about it.

I’m also a night owl mostly, which adds more havoc to the mix. As the day gets later, I’m a multi-tasking crazy girl just trying to get it all done. This eventually conflicts with my fiance’ and daughter’s sleep schedules, so I force myself to go to sleep before I really am ready to.

Either way, I absolutely hate all the wasted time. I need to get my head together a bit more, so I can work on that better. Otherwise, I’m just stuck in this never-ending viscous cycle.

I’m pretty sure my biggest motivation overall is my youngest daughter, Scarlet. If it weren’t for her, I probably would sleep most of the day away and do next to nothing. Everything I do, I do for her. She has several disabilities, yet no matter what she has been through, she is always full of laughter and love. My babies are my world, no matter what age they are. They know that I am always Mama Bear and do anything I can for them. My eldest Haley is 19 and doesn’t quite need me so much. She’s moved to another country. This makes me sad and proud all at once. I miss her dearly.

My fiance’ is also a motivation, but in a different way. He reminds me often about how many times my ways have failed lol. It can be frustrating sometimes, but he means well. I do get side-tracked entirely too easily. Literally, I will see a puppy and completely get off track. So, yea I see his frustration as well. A lot of times, I make my own race to accomplish a certain set of tasks to prove to him that I can do it. Which in turn helps keep me focused.

Maybe I’ll Get It Done, One Day

I have never been on good terms with time.

I tend to take on entirely too much and expect too much of myself. I’m constantly multi-tasking, trying to do it all at once, and fail miserably. I am always getting side tracked easily and can’t accomplish anything completely. I procrastinate constantly. I panic and can’t think straight. I’m also extremely forgetful. Add my multiple mental issues that can take over quickly.

I think the worst part of it all, is how it affects others. I really only want to make everyone else happy, but it is often is seen differently. No matter how much I try to prove otherwise. None of it is intentional. Believe me, I’d change in a heartbeat if I could.

It’s an ongoing struggle. I take a lot of baby steps towards accomplishments and I do celebrate them. I’ve come a long way on some levels, while in other ways I feel that I’ve fallen backwards a few steps. Either way, I find the silver lining or lesson and then move again. Staying positive is sometimes all that’s left to pull me back out of the rabbit hole.

For instance, this current post that I am writing took me 3 days to complete. Between being side tracked, deciding whether to even share it, renaming it, and so on. The distractions are appreciated though. Like, yesterday I accomplished very little, but my daughter and I made pink pancakes and I took her to get her hair and nails done. She was so very excited and happy. That always makes it so worth it. Today was actually a much more productive day. I got to check off a ton of things from my to do list. And we even made chocolate dipped strawberries for the 1st time. They didn’t look pleasant since the chocolate didn’t melt how we expected, but they were delicious and didn’t last long at all.

I was also able to list a few more coins today. I know we would do better if they were graded, but we can’t afford to do that at the moment. They have been heavily researched though. If interested, check out my Coins page. I need to add my new listings. You can also follow my ebay to stay current.

There’s so many things to do yet and my head is spinning, but again I’m running out of time for the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be productive as well.

Happy Valentines’ Day

I really don’t have anything new today, other than I updated my post from yesterday since I forgot to add a link to my actual page and I’m still working out a few things to make this site look a little better.

I spent the day showering my youngest daughter with Valentines’ treats and fun. I got her all sorts of gifts, we made pancakes with hearts all over them, and watched a movie she’s been wanting to see for a while. My oldest is out of the house, but we exchanged our love via text. My fiance doesn’t buy into all the holiday consumer crap, he says. Although, he still ordered gifts for us that will arrive late. That’s his work around to say it’s not for the holiday lol.

Today really got away from me, but it was fun and I still plan to list some more ebay items. I have a lot of coins and some random books to add. I will add them here as well.

If anyone is reading this, let me know. I appreciate the feedback and also the knowledge that I’m not talking to myself (more than I already do).

Skullshine Sharing Some Savings

I’m obsessed with saving money and making a couple extra bucks. There’s too many apps out there that will supposedly help. I’ve gone through so much time researching and stressing to better myself financially. I figured it was a good time to begin sharing some of the things I’ve discovered along the way.

As with most things on my site, the Financial Tips page will be updated when possible. For the time being I have listed the companies that I have had the most success with cash back so far. Games, surveys, and much more will be added shortly.

Numismatic Updates

If anyone is interested, we have several coins available for sale. I finally had a moment today to update the Numismatic page and also added a Coins For Sale page.

My fiance Sully started all of this as a bit of a hobby, that turned into something that he could leave behind some day for my youngest daughter and I. He has been doing this for a few years now, while attempting to teach me a few things. He has done extensive research on everything we have. He examines and weighs each one, reads up on current pricing and news, watches videos to learn anything he can on particular coins or just numismatics in general. If he’s not sure of something, he won’t list it or will specifically state that he is unsure.

At this time, none of our coins have been graded. We have to decide which ones are worth it when we have the extra money to send them in. We have been listing them on eBay, OfferUp, LetGo, and a few other places. There’s really not a lot of physical coin places around anymore, but there’s a whole lot of scammers online making it even more difficult. They try to sell questionable coins for a ridiculous amount of money, showing a few blurry pics with little to no description. People are too scared to really deal with anyone and don’t want to take the chance on a legit deal. Our prices are set to sell with some profit, not to become rich over night.

Ready To Finally Begin This Next Journey

Now that I’ve spent a good portion of my day updating and rearranging my site, I can now write this and then accomplish a few things that I should have already done by now. I think I’m finally at a place where I can begin to actually blog more often and also add more content. I just needed to weed through all my old pages and posts first before I could even think about my new direction. There was still a lot of my old LadySkullshine promotional and photography portfolio. Cool to look back on, but I’m on another new journey once again. There have been so very many already, and I anticipate more since I’m constantly changing.

My next task will be to get my ebay items listed on here, along with more numismatic things, and a whole lot more about saving and making money. My fiance does extensive research in the numismatic realm. I usually just type what he says when it come to putting coins on ebay. I myself have recently spent ridiculous amounts of time on saving/making extra money. It is tedious at times, but it has definitely paid off.

That’s it for today. I must go check on my family and be productive before I am once again side tracked. Time is not at all my friend.

Who Would Read My Blog?

According to my next task, I’m supposed to determine the kind of person who would read my blog and what I would like to say to them. This is intended to help focus my thoughts and goals towards that specific person.

I know the assignments are cheesy, but my mind is all over the place. This helps me get used to blogging more and gives me something to chat about.

Honestly, I don’t know who would actually read my blog. I have no preference, as long as they bring no issues and enjoy their visit. My site has lived through about 10 years of changes. I could see all sorts of people reading it at one point or another, while I could also see none at all. That’s part of why I have gone back and forth with posting. While I’ve been pretty eclectic, I just don’t know that what I have to say is interesting enough to continue reading. Originally, this site was all about promoting others. Now, it’s more about what I would like share on my time. Content has shifted, but the idea of helping others is still there.

To those that are reading my blog, I’d definitely like to say Thank You and I appreciate it immensely. Please feel free contribute by liking posts and commenting.

Who Is LadySkullshine?

Since I have an About Me section, I didn’t intend to write this post. However, I signed up to learn more about blogging and my first task was to do this. So, who am I and why am I here?

For those who have no idea who I am, I’m LadySkullshine.

I suppose a good way to start is to tell you to google my alt name and you’ll find a whole lot of my work from over the years. I feel like that’s actually pretty cool for me to be able to say. The name originated around 2010 and came out of brainstorming with a few others. At the time, it was perfect for what I was doing. I had been recently unemployed, which created an opportunity to learn a few things and volunteer my time helping out local businesses, the local metal community, and a few things outside of that. I did a ton of promoting and photography. That was my original primary focus. From there, I began to take on a bit much but still persisted. I had managed a couple bands, did some modelling, a ton more photography, ticket and merchandise sales, announcing at music awards, made shirts and hoodies in my home once, and a few more things that had gone on for quite a few years.

It started to die down slightly when I got back to working but I insisted on continuing to help out wherever I could. When my time with family was compromised, I had to end most of it. My babygirls are my life and they always come 1st. The last thing I really did was star in a my friend’s horror movie with my oldest daughter a few years ago. You can actually find us on IMDb, which is also pretty cool.

Over these long years, my site has been restructured several times as far as content. In an effort to hang on to the history of my site and of course to showcase my past work, I have saved some of the old LadySkullshine in a separate archival section. The rest of my site has shifted focus on awareness of several disabilities that affect my life in one way or another, saving money any way possible, Numismatics, along with anything else I decide to add along the way.

Now that I have gone through the process of writing this, I’m remembering things and realize there is a lot more to my history that is actually very interesting. I may continue this post with more details at a later time.

New Beginnings… Again

Once Again, I Am Revamping My Site

Please do excuse the chaotic mess that’s going on. It shall be a lot better soon. 

I must apologize now for past, present, and future changes that may occur. I also lack the ability to focus enough to constantly update things. I think it will all really depend on time and worthiness. I’m beyond doing Every task for little to nothing. Actually, in the past, I have invested my own money and sooooo much time.

Please do Not misunderstand.

I greatly appreciate most of everything that I experienced during that era of my life. Not to mention, I signed up for it. I literally just wanted the experience and to help other people. I didn’t realize that so many would also take advantage and not even appreciate the things I’ve done to help.

On the flip side, there were several that were beyond appreciative of my help. They were mindful of my time, thanked me, paid me, promoted me, gave me all sorts of band merchandise (which I still have a lot of), and just  really made me feel like I was making a difference.

Once I got back to extended work hours, I wasn’t able to commit my free time as I did before. That’s when a lot really came to light and could see who was real and who was just expecting everything for nothing.

The silver lining of it all is that I was able to expand on my already diverse knowledge of photography, sales, marketing, and management. I’m grateful for all experiences, good and bad.

Fast forward to now.

I never closed my site because I am proud of all my work as LadySkullshine. I just kept it up for anyone to continue to view. Now I want to use it to help on other ways. All LS items have been placed in my archive section for the time being. I honestly don’t know what all the new content will be, but my thoughts at the moment are to provide any info I can, make some money, and also share some of my kid’s skills.

10/6/14 Mercury Retrograde

Ever since I was made aware of this planetary illusion that causes major universal havoc several times a year, I follow it as much as possible.  There is a copy of the Mercury Retrograde calendar on my kitchen wall underneath my kids’ school calendar however you will rarely, if ever, hear me discussing it outside of my home.  It seems taboo, yet it affects everyone whether they like to admit it or not.  When I get brave & mention it to someone, I’m either ignored, looked at like a crazy person or sometimes they do actually ask me what MR is. Some changes are on the horizon …

I’m completely reworking my site. Not sure how everyone will feel about it, but I’m thinking a few things.  With respect to all those who follow me, (I’m not sure how many of those I actually have) I don’t feel that I’m benefiting as many as I’d like to.  So then I wonder what’s the point.  So a new format is needed.  Since I don’t have very much spare time to work with, I will make it simple but with more interaction.   Currently, anything I post on my LadySkullshine Entertainment page on facebook will automatically upload to my site.   I’m looking for ways to expand & network further in a seamless manner.

I also think that this is my own site that I do by myself & can do whatever I want.  That being said, you will see more of what I want to be on my site.  Not, what I think will please everyone else.  So you may see more happy sparkley things & less adult rated items.  I hope this doesn’t annoy too many, but hey it is what it is right?  Everyone just needs to realize that I do this for fun & to help others voluntarily in my very limited spare time since I’m quite busy with my career & family, etc.  There are a few exceptions when I do some paid projects or trade offs, etc.

I hope to start changing some things today & to get working on some family pics on my day off.
