I was just wondering who else really hates paying so much for car insurance?
We have two vehicles, which we barely drive. I always get state minimum coverage, but we still paid a lot. It also doesn’t help that I have an old claim on my record. I actually found a cheaper insurance for a few months, but it gradually increased over time.
After much research, I finally found the most cost effective insurance for us. Metromile charges a base rate per vehicle, then you pay per mile. I’m now paying about $35 a month.

Hello! Happy Friday! I’ve been out of sorts the last few days. I hope to get it together and catch up this weekend. I just thought I’d share my newest shift in some financial things. I have been reassessing my ways to make a few extra bucks. I actually review everything I do, often. I’m slightly OCD. That’s why my site changes so much. Sorry, I’m ridiculous.
I haven’t been cashing out as much lately for a few reasons. I wanted to let my balances build up, because I thought it would be an incentive to get paid a higher amount. I was so very wrong. Instead, it makes me feel like I’m not achieving anything. Also, I’ve been bouncing around a bit lately, trying different things. So that didn’t help either. All of this has put me in panic mode. I feel like I’m wasting time.
So, I figured out which ones are actually worth waiting on. I won’t touch those for now. If I cash out the rest, I’ll have about $53. I also made a new list of GPT (get paid to) sources to concentrate on. I felt like I was all over the place, so I had to stop everything. I did some research, verified my earnings, and created the list. I’m not sharing them until I have been successfully paid. I wouldn’t feel right otherwise. In the meantime, I will continue to add any helpful tips that I can think of.
Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to subscribe to my blog for updates. Visit anytime, and leave me a note if you like.
Hello. This is just a quick note to let everyone know that I have added some more information to my financial pages, Savings Tips and Extra Money Tips.
When I have a spare moment, I plan to add the following:

We started off our day excited to get out for a bit, wash the new car, pick up some groceries, and whatnot. Then come home and run the sprinkler for my Scarlet and our puppy Bastian. Then reality set in.
Long story short, I recently sold my VW Convertible and purchased a Subaru wagon. We haven’t driven it much yet. Today we ventured out on our happy way, until we noticed that we couldn’t go over 20 mph. We pulled over and popped the hood to check things out. After a bit, we decided to get the car back home. So, none of our above mentioned things got done and now my car won’t work.
Once home, my daughter reminded me that we planned to set up the sprinkler. We don’t have a pool, the public one is closed, so it’s the next best thing. Or so I thought. Scarlet never played with a sprinkler before so she was excited to try it out. She got her bathing suit on and we got Bashy outside. I got the hose connected, and then the sprinkler. We started it up and yay! ….???
Bastian stretched out his chain as far as he could go to get away from the water. Scarlet jumped around a bit while trying to adjust the sprinkler to different spray settings. She said she was good and to turn it off. I disconnected the hose, it sprayed everywhere and got her in the eyes. I ran to shut it off and got everyone inside. Once everything calmed down, I asked if she at least had a little fun in the water. She said no, her and Bastian were terrified.
I guess we will be looking into small pool options. After, the car is brought back to life…hopefully.
While updating my current content, I also like to make sure that my past is also properly reflected. If you’ve worked with LadySkullshine Entertainment, and you are not listed on my About Me page, please forgive my oversight or memory lapse. Let me know so I can correct it. If you send me your link, I will add that as well.
When I revamped things this last time, I just didn’t have the extra time to go through every single link and verify that what I had was still current. They were from over 5 yrs ago. I also didn’t want to leave some and not others. It would seem like I was picking favorites. So I removed them all.
I’m probably just being a massive packrat by keeping so much information on that page, but it’s a part of my history. Until I find a better way to organize my site, it will have to remain there. It’s the era of when LadySkullshine originated and shined. 🙂
As I gave this a title, I realized that I’ve made a few posts already regarding updates on my coin auctions. So in an effort to stay consistent, I will start numbering them.
If anyone is interested, I have eight coin auctions currently active on eBay. I listed them below, along with each item’s link to eBay.
We actually have a whole lot more available, but haven’t had a lot of extra time to get them listed. Our general inventory is shown on the Numismatics /Auctions page. Let me know if there’s anything you are interested in.
We do our best to provide as much information as we can with detailed pictures, while also keeping our prices low. None of our coins have been graded. If we are unsure of a coin error, we will notate that as well.
Paribus helps you save money while shopping, and even afterwards. It’s affiliated with Wikibuy, which is part of Capital One. If you download the Wikibuy extension, it will check for coupon codes and the best price when you’re shopping online at certain stores. I’ve used it a few times to find the best deal.
Paribus also keeps track of your deliveries. When something arrives later than promised, Paribus will contact you advising that you may be eligible for compensation. I’ve done it twice this month. I often forget about this part since I’ve never had to utilize it, until recently.
My last two shipments from Amazon were late. The first one was slightly disappointing because I was looking forward to my new vacuum, but no big deal. The next day, I noticed that Paribus sent me a message. This directed me to their site to view the late delivery. They said I could contact Amazon via chat, while providing the link to do so. They even gave me the exact wording, including my order number. All I had to do was copy and paste the information into the chat. I received a $5 credit right away. They made it extremely quick and easy. I would guesstimate a few minutes total between receiving the email from Paribus and receiving a credit from Amazon. This happened again on another shipment and I was given $3 for that one.
I haven’t been able to locate a referral link or code to provide, but it’s still definitely worth sharing. Try it out https://paribus.co.
I really dislike paying for car insurance. I completely understand the concept and it’s fabulous. My issue, is that I rarely drive so it seems ridiculous to pay so much money for it.
Months ago, I did multiple quotes online and spoke to others on the phone to get the best rate. The lowest I could get was about $60 a month through Root. So I tried them out for the six months and watched their rate increase to over $70 a month. Just before my policy ran out, we had purchased a second vehicle. We needed a backup but I cringed at having to add it to the insurance. I looked into it some options and managed to find a few companies that offered pay per mile plans. This was perfect!
After some research and quotes, I ended up signing up with Metromile. I chose the most basic coverage, state minimum. We are now paying a base rate per vehicle, plus the per mile rate. That ended up being $12.30 for the car and $18 for our truck. I had to pay the base rate up front for six months which was just over $100. Once you are set up, they send you an OBD reader so they can track your miles.
I just received my first bill after trying them for a month. It was $32.52 total, minus what I prepaid. So, I only owed $1.63 for the miles I drove. Now, that is even more fabulous. Not to mention, they also give me an Amazon gift card for each referral that I send them.

Amazon is affiliated with so many things, but I recently found out about this.
Per their site: “Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is a marketplace for completion of virtual tasks that requires human intelligence. The Mechanical Turk service gives businesses access to a diverse, on-demand, scalable workforce and gives Workers a selection of thousands of tasks to complete whenever it’s convenient.”
Basically, you get paid small amounts to do small tasks. This includes things like surveys, extracting receipt information, provide search results, pulling info from a site, rate pics, and so on.
I would love to share a referral link for this, but I’m not able to locate anything. If you would like to try this, visit https://www.mturk.com/get-started. If you have an Amazon account, it is the same login info. You can also choose to be paid via Amazon gift card. I’m scheduled to get my first payout of $8.39 this Thursday. My goal is to have a higher payout next time around. I created a reminder to make sure I log in daily and complete a few tasks.

We have a black lab/ pitbull mixed puppy named Sebastian. He will be eight years old this year. He is my daughter’s Emotional Support Animal. I couldn’t imagine our lives without him.
When we rescued Bashy, he was only about five weeks old, and already had maybe three or four homes. I’m pretty sure he was on Craigslist at some point too. When I met with the last owner, they just gave him up like it was no big deal. I felt horrible for him. He was really tiny, full of worms and fleas. We got him to the vet and he was better in no time.
Bastian was originally supposed to be my puppy. My youngest daughter Scarlet really connected with him. She would carry him around and tell him what to do. He followed her everywhere and let her lay on him as he got bigger. While he is the most gentle, loving dog, he’s very protective of us both. Even when Scarlet and I are goofing around, he is on guard to make sure we don’t hurt each other. He gets so worked up that he dumps out his bin of toys and starts to rip them around.
Here’s just a few of my favorite pics of our Bashy.
I recently made a post that I was changing around my eBay inventory. I haven’t done that in a long time. I usually just set each one to automatically relist at the end of the auction. It’s easiest for me since I lose track of time and don’t keep up with them as much as I should. I get notifications whenever I get an offer or a bid.
With the new list of coins, also came some other changes. I have a few lots of coins that I placed in the Buy It Now, rather than doing regular auctions. I also trimmed down my pics and now have collages on instead. My fiance tends to get over zealous with the detailed pics.
Basically, these changes all took effect because he really doesn’t want to put a lot into it anymore, but I want to continue to sell coins. We have a fairly large collection and he spent a lot of time on them with researching and whatnot. I know that they aren’t graded, but for the price we are selling them, I would think that someone else can have it done and resell them for a profit. But I also know that it’s so hard to trust anyone and there’s a lot of scams out there. I wish there were more coin shops around that deals with errors especially. It can be tricky and frustrating.
If you know me, you know that I save every single receipt for every single thing. I record them for budgeting purposes. I also use several apps to scan them to get money back. It doesn’t take very long at all to scan them. The points add up and you can cash them out for a gift card or deposit.
A few key points in general: Scan your receipts right away so they don’t expire. Don’t crumble them up or they may become illegible. For up to date information, see the app or site itself.
I have listed below all of the apps that I have successfully received money from. This information can also be found on the Financial Tips page.
Current Cash Out To Date: $22.79 This app allows you to scan pretty much any receipt. It gives you a random amount of money for each one. One receipt may get $0.01, while another gets $0.13. You can also email them your receipts for same day purchases. They have cash back for purchases and “badges” that you can click on for additional offers. * Referral Code: TAYT94E * Referral Link: https://coinout.com/referrals/new?r=TAYT94E
Current Cash Out To Date: $31 This app only lets you scan certain receipts via app. Offhand, I can tell you that it doesn’t accept take out like McDonald’s. When you used my referral code or link, we will each receive 2k points when you scan your first receipt. * Referral Code: E4HFT * Referral Link:https://fetchrewards.onelink.me/vvv3/referralsocial?code=E4HFT
Current Cash Out To Date: $25 Receipt Hog seems to take every receipt. You get points, slots chances, and sweepstakes entries. It also scans your email for e-receipts. * Referral Info: Per RH, they discontinued referrals due to approaching max capacity.
Current Cash Out To Date: $25 This app also seems to take most receipts. Each card that is filled up equals 100 points. You also receive sweepstakes entries. * Referral Code: PPTWMPZJ. * Referral Link: https://app.adjust.com/oqlq9t9?label=PPTWMPZJ
Try them out and let me know what you think. I’m always looking for feedback, as well as information on any apps you have used.
The loud, annoying, embarrassing sounds coming from the Coinstar. Even more amplified by my ridiculous anxiety.
When I start the Coinstar machine, it is very loud. I feel like everyone is looking at me. Then I begin dumping the clanky coins, which always seems to be never ending. I feel like I’m in my own world just watching the coins, pushing them around as they get stuck, refilling the tray, and so on. It’s almost like a trance. In the meantime, I’m having panic attacks. I get really warm and my face gets red. I feel like everyone knows I’m a mess.
It happens every time without fail. No matter how I approach it or what I tell myself. I’m not entirely sure which part of my mental issues causes it, but it’s not a fun experience. I hate it. I hate the anxiety that comes over me. I don’t care that every few grocery trips, I have to lug a heavy coffee canister full of change to the store. I’m not embarrassed to use the machine. I’m embarrassed that it affects me this way.
I appreciate that we have the change to begin with. Whenever my fiance is sorting and researching his boxes of coins, the less interesting ones go into the canister. It’s recycled money, but it makes me feel better to turn it into Amazon cash to be used on family and household items. Knowing that helps me to get through my silly bout of anxiety. I just wish I could control it better to begin with.
A few years ago, I was searching through Spotify and thought I’d look for some old friends of mine from back in the day. I found them, so I looked for more. I actually found a bunch and created a playlist for them. This was pretty exciting for me since I have their old demos and whatnot stored away in a box. I started to transfer the CD’s to my laptop a while back, but got sidetracked. Either way, it’s nice to have a decent amount of their music quickly available on shuffle.
While I may not be a fan of every song on this playlist, they are there because they are a part of my history of what helped make LadySkullshine. There’s some that I connect more with the fact that I was there. I was photographing every moment while also moshing in the pit. I knew these people personally. It means a bit more to me in so many ways. I will continue to share their music with anyone who would appreciate it.
Check them out when you have a moment. The majority of the bands are metal and I believe all but one band is local to the PA, NJ, NY Area. I added Suffocation since I worked with them as well. A few no longer play, but their music is still worth sharing. I will continue to add music as I jog my memory some more.
So far I have been able to find the following: Behind The Grey Beneath The Calm Decaysia Fatal By Design I Am The Trireme Infernal Opera March To Victory Mindmaze No Remorse For The Fallen Ominous Our Ashes Remain Ovlo Sandraudiga Small Town Titans Sorrowseed Suffocation The Curse Of Sorrow
I’ve been working on getting more companies added to the Financial Tips page whenever I have a moment. YouGov Pulse VPN seemed to be a great one to add next. It’s an app that just runs in the background of your phone. Once in a while, I get a notification to reconnect it. Somehow my phone drops off. I think it’s because I have another similar app running so they are conflicting, but it hasn’t affected my earnings.
That’s literally all you need to do to accumulate points. I also receive emails on occasion to take a survey. They aren’t too lengthy and they pay out a decent amount of points. Since I’ve downloaded this, I’ve made $15. That’s pretty good since the most I do is a random survey.
I had a pretty good day yesterday. My 13 year old Scarlet had already bought me pink and purple petunias with her own money the day before. I took her out with me to ride in the car and we happened to see a flower tent. She used her allowance and found a buy one get one deal. Saving money, just like her mom lol. Then on Mother’s Day, my 20 year old Haley texted me first thing in the morning to brighten my day. Later on, Scarlet played the song “Mom” by Meghan Trainor as she sang along.
I’m so very grateful for my babygirls. They are my everything. Without them, I wouldn’t be Mama Bear.
You might have a mom, she might be the bomb But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
She my world, she’s my heart and there’s no denying I’m her girl no matter what even when I’m lying She loving me, loving me, loving me, loving me, love She love me like nobody else I’m telling you, telling you, telling you, telling you all She taught me how to love myself
You might have a mom, she might be the bomb But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
See we go way back, oh, I remember All the times that I cried, she made me feel better She loving me, loving me, loving me, loving me, love She love me like nobody else I’m telling you, telling you, telling you, telling you all She taught me how to love myself
You might have a mom, she might be the bomb But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Oh, how she loves me to the moon and back That’s what she told me Her love never ends, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
I was just wanted to call you to tell you I love you Aww, I love you, too I miss you already Aww, that’s so sweet, what’s going on? Just writing songs, my mom song Aww, I love you to the moon and back My heart hurts, I love you so much I love you more
You might have a mom, she might be the bomb But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine You might have a mom, she might be the bomb But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Oh, how she loves me to the moon and back That’s what she told me
Her love never ends, she’s my best friend Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine Baby, baby, ain’t nobody, no Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
This app has quickly become one of my favorites. You can make a few extra bucks doing quick tasks with little effort. The “coins” accumulate fairly quickly.
Giftloop has a continuous loop of screens that you swipe through. As you swipe, you come across several cat memes that you click on for 5 coins. In between the cats, there are also short videos to watch for 50 coins. You can complete offers, trials, install apps, take surveys, and more. They have a daily login bonus, along with other daily bonuses. For example, there’s a daily bonus for taking a survey. So, you get the coins for the survey itself, then collect an additional 750 bonus coins.
I have made $35 in Amazon gift cards since I’ve started using this app, near the end of last year. That’s not bad since I primarily just watch the videos, do an occasional survey, and collect my 5 coins whenever the cats pop up. Oh and I always have my phone set to collect coins whenever it’s charging. I would have cashed out more but I rarely complete the offers, apps, and trials. Since I’m really not testing out as many apps anymore, I think I will be using this one a little more often.
This is just an eBay update for anyone interested in coins.
I will be changing my eBay listings around within the next day or so. The miscellaneous items will remain, but most of the coins will be replaced.
We have a large collection that we are looking to sell the bulk of, in pieces or in full. The majority of the coins are pennies, mainly errors, lots of wheats. None of the coins are graded. Our general inventory list is on the Numismatic/ Auction page.

Per their site, “MobileXpression is a market research panel designed to understand the trends and behaviors of people using the mobile Internet.”
I love this app. I always brag about how easy it is to use and to make a few extra bucks. It takes very little time. You just install the app and let it run in the background of your phone. If I recall correctly, there is a security setting that you need to adjust for it to track properly. Once a week, I click on the app. It verifies that it is connected, then I collect my five points. That’s it. I’ve actually made $35 in Amazon gift cards, since the end of 2019. The amount would be higher, but when I first signed up I would always forget to click on it each week. Now I set a reminder for myself.
As much as I would love to provide a referral link or code, there isn’t any available. If you are interested in trying the app, I can send you an email. Although, I don’t know if there are any benefits for referrals. There is an affiliate program, but I haven’t signed up for it. You can also go to your app store, or their site to sign up at https://www.mobilexpression.com/About.aspx.
Try it out and let me know what you think, or if you have similar apps that you have used successfully. I am always looking for feedback.

Beginning of 2018, my friend Skip asked me to star in his local horror movie. He said it was called “Camp Hideaway Massacre“. Of course, I said yes. Skip is a close friend and it would be fun. When the day came, I felt so nervous and awkward. I brought my oldest daughter Haley to the set to help out. She ended up in a scene with me. That was pretty cool. By the end of the night, my clothes were ruined and we were covered in a thick sticky bloody syrup. It was so gross. I didn’t exactly prepare very well. I threw some towels on the seat and drove back home. My daughter and I wondered how we would explain this if we got pulled over on the way. LOL
Jump ahead a bit later. I was told the movie was released. I bragged to everybody about it and that I am on IMDb. Meanwhile, I was both nervous and excited. I told everyone, but I didn’t watch it at all. I am extremely critical of myself and just couldn’t.
Now it’s 2020 and my youngest daughter is going through the YouTube channel and comes across the movie. It’s not the official final cut and I didn’t realize it at the time, but we finally watched it. It was hilarious to watch us and I actually wasn’t absolutely horrible. My Haley was pretty awesome too. Check it out if you get a chance.
