Name Changing?

For a while now, I’ve been contemplating changing the name from LadySkullshine.

This is already a very difficult thing for me to do. I’ve used this name for over 10 years and have a long history with it. Google LadySkullshine and see how many pages of results come up. But it no longer applies to me really anymore. I mean, ‘LadySkullshine’ isn’t exactly screaming “Hey, let’s chat about saving some money.”

Also, I am horrible at picking out names. I didn’t originally create LadySkullshine by myself. If I did, I probably wouldn’t have a name at all. Or this site. It took me a long time to name my children and even my pets. A name means a lot. It’s what everyone calls you. It can be the grounds for someone to judge you, whether they think you’re cool or if they will make fun of you. It can make you stand out or be washed away. It can resonate in the minds of others or be forgotten immediately.

There’s so many combinations and possibilities. I want the name to be catchy and relevant. Nothing boring. Something people will remember and easily share with other people. By the time I come up with something different, everyone will be used to LadySkullshine and will be confused by the change.

So, for now I’ll keep the name and continue contemplating new ones.

Lady Savings? Sparkle Savings? Simple Savings? The Savings Lady? Save With Sparkles? Smile Sparkle Save?

Updating The Past

While updating my current content, I also like to make sure that my past is also properly reflected. If you’ve worked with LadySkullshine Entertainment, and you are not listed on my About Me page, please forgive my oversight or memory lapse. Let me know so I can correct it. If you send me your link, I will add that as well.

When I revamped things this last time, I just didn’t have the extra time to go through every single link and verify that what I had was still current. They were from over 5 yrs ago.  I also didn’t want to leave some and not others. It would seem like I was picking favorites.  So I removed them all.

I’m probably just being a massive packrat by keeping so much information on that page, but it’s a part of my history. Until I find a better way to organize my site, it will have to remain there. It’s the era of when LadySkullshine originated and shined. 🙂

Spotify Local Metal Playlist

A few years ago, I was searching through Spotify and thought I’d look for some old friends of mine from back in the day. I found them, so I looked for more. I actually found a bunch and created a playlist for them. This was pretty exciting for me since I have their old demos and whatnot stored away in a box. I started to transfer the CD’s to my laptop a while back, but got sidetracked. Either way, it’s nice to have a decent amount of their music quickly available on shuffle.

While I may not be a fan of every song on this playlist, they are there because they are a part of my history of what helped make LadySkullshine. There’s some that I connect more with the fact that I was there. I was photographing every moment while also moshing in the pit. I knew these people personally. It means a bit more to me in so many ways. I will continue to share their music with anyone who would appreciate it.

Check them out when you have a moment. The majority of the bands are metal and I believe all but one band is local to the PA, NJ, NY Area. I added Suffocation since I worked with them as well. A few no longer play, but their music is still worth sharing. I will continue to add music as I jog my memory some more.

So far I have been able to find the following:
Behind The Grey
Beneath The Calm
Decaysia
Fatal By Design
I Am The Trireme
Infernal Opera
March To Victory
Mindmaze
No Remorse For The Fallen
Ominous
Our Ashes Remain
Ovlo
Sandraudiga
Small Town Titans
Sorrowseed
Suffocation
The Curse Of Sorrow

I wasn’t able to embed Spotify, but here is the link to my playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6HdBACdMPBCOZyYA5elloC?si=iaPuaLrtQRyCE4rHz0_-Mg

Camp Hideaway Massacre (2018)

Beginning of 2018, my friend Skip asked me to star in his local horror movie. He said it was called “Camp Hideaway Massacre“. Of course, I said yes. Skip is a close friend and it would be fun. When the day came, I felt so nervous and awkward. I brought my oldest daughter Haley to the set to help out. She ended up in a scene with me. That was pretty cool. By the end of the night, my clothes were ruined and we were covered in a thick sticky bloody syrup. It was so gross. I didn’t exactly prepare very well. I threw some towels on the seat and drove back home. My daughter and I wondered how we would explain this if we got pulled over on the way. LOL

Jump ahead a bit later. I was told the movie was released. I bragged to everybody about it and that I am on IMDb. Meanwhile, I was both nervous and excited. I told everyone, but I didn’t watch it at all. I am extremely critical of myself and just couldn’t.

Now it’s 2020 and my youngest daughter is going through the YouTube channel and comes across the movie. It’s not the official final cut and I didn’t realize it at the time, but we finally watched it. It was hilarious to watch us and I actually wasn’t absolutely horrible. My Haley was pretty awesome too. Check it out if you get a chance.

LadySkullshine Archives: Out Of Control

While doing my random cleanup of my website, I noticed I actually have a lot of information in the LadySkullshine Entertainment archives section as well a lot of archived pics. I haven’t looked at it in so very long. I cleaned it up some, but I’m not finished. I do everything in stages. My ADHD and OCD are always trying to compete. So anything that I get done is an accomplishment really.

Anyways, I plan to downsize that portion of my site a bit. I don’t think anyone will mind or miss it really. I feel like it’s there more for my own memorabilia, honestly. It was such a long time ago and I lost touch with 98% of that part of my life.

I need to make room for so many new things to come. I never know what that will be. My path and interests change often.

I appreciate everyone who has followed me along the way.

Who Is LadySkullshine?

Since I have an About Me section, I didn’t intend to write this post. However, I signed up to learn more about blogging and my first task was to do this. So, who am I and why am I here?

For those who have no idea who I am, I’m LadySkullshine.

I suppose a good way to start is to tell you to google my alt name and you’ll find a whole lot of my work from over the years. I feel like that’s actually pretty cool for me to be able to say. The name originated around 2010 and came out of brainstorming with a few others. At the time, it was perfect for what I was doing. I had been recently unemployed, which created an opportunity to learn a few things and volunteer my time helping out local businesses, the local metal community, and a few things outside of that. I did a ton of promoting and photography. That was my original primary focus. From there, I began to take on a bit much but still persisted. I had managed a couple bands, did some modelling, a ton more photography, ticket and merchandise sales, announcing at music awards, made shirts and hoodies in my home once, and a few more things that had gone on for quite a few years.

It started to die down slightly when I got back to working but I insisted on continuing to help out wherever I could. When my time with family was compromised, I had to end most of it. My babygirls are my life and they always come 1st. The last thing I really did was star in a my friend’s horror movie with my oldest daughter a few years ago. You can actually find us on IMDb, which is also pretty cool.

Over these long years, my site has been restructured several times as far as content. In an effort to hang on to the history of my site and of course to showcase my past work, I have saved some of the old LadySkullshine in a separate archival section. The rest of my site has shifted focus on awareness of several disabilities that affect my life in one way or another, saving money any way possible, Numismatics, along with anything else I decide to add along the way.

Now that I have gone through the process of writing this, I’m remembering things and realize there is a lot more to my history that is actually very interesting. I may continue this post with more details at a later time.

Stay Tuned For More LadySkullshine!

Thank you!

I’m going to try to get on here a bit more often with some random things here & there, starting today…

Today’s quick message is the irritating question I just posted on facebook:

Seriously…Can anyone possibly give me a valid reason why there is soooooooooo much paperwork the beginning of every school year for every child? Did they lose all our info over the summer? Oh wait, it’s online as well…. So why all this madness?!

That’s about it for now.  Oh & also, check out Rocking in the Valley for this weekend’s entertainment.  They just updated their blog…. http://rockinginthevalley.blogspot.com/2014/09/its-that-time-of-week-again-and-i-hope.html

Thanks so much for visiting my site.  Feel free to share, comment & stop back anytime 🙂

I had planned to work as shot girl at Jabber Jaws for this Biz R Ent metal show, plans changes unexpectedly so I found myself at a show with no camera attached to me which is a bit strange.   So, I made my rounds catching up w/ a lot of old friends I haven’t really spoken to in about a year & enjoyed some great metal music. especially the always awesome Black Fate.  They were missing Corey, but Mike’s son Jake did a great job filling in.  As much as I’ve seen them live & felt the amazing energy they always have, I never truly experienced it as I did this time.  Not having a camera allowed me to really focus on them as a band overall & what each member brings.  Then to top off an already great time, they did their cover of “See You In Hell” by Grim Reaper.  As always, the crowd went nuts & I was right in front of it all singing into the microphone with Skip at the top of my lungs.  What an awesome night it turned out to be.  I’ll see you all in hell my friends   \m/

01/16/14 Sterling Hotel

Decaysia, Chinga, Since The Fire at The Sterling Hotel in Allentown, PA.

Awesome show!  Lots of fun!  This was Lance Cortis’s debut show as the new front man of Decaysia.

It was also my debut back into the scene.  Just had eye strabismus eye surgery 6 days prior to correct my constant double vision.  This along with several medical issues had crippled my photography & promoting capabilities over the past year or so.
