My Day: Car & Sprinker Dilemmas

We started off our day excited to get out for a bit, wash the new car, pick up some groceries, and whatnot. Then come home and run the sprinkler for my Scarlet and our puppy Bastian. Then reality set in.

Long story short, I recently sold my VW Convertible and purchased a Subaru wagon. We haven’t driven it much yet. Today we ventured out on our happy way, until we noticed that we couldn’t go over 20 mph. We pulled over and popped the hood to check things out. After a bit, we decided to get the car back home. So, none of our above mentioned things got done and now my car won’t work.

Once home, my daughter reminded me that we planned to set up the sprinkler. We don’t have a pool, the public one is closed, so it’s the next best thing. Or so I thought. Scarlet never played with a sprinkler before so she was excited to try it out. She got her bathing suit on and we got Bashy outside. I got the hose connected, and then the sprinkler. We started it up and yay! ….???

Bastian stretched out his chain as far as he could go to get away from the water. Scarlet jumped around a bit while trying to adjust the sprinkler to different spray settings. She said she was good and to turn it off. I disconnected the hose, it sprayed everywhere and got her in the eyes. I ran to shut it off and got everyone inside. Once everything calmed down, I asked if she at least had a little fun in the water. She said no, her and Bastian were terrified.

I guess we will be looking into small pool options. After, the car is brought back to life…hopefully.

Updating The Past

While updating my current content, I also like to make sure that my past is also properly reflected. If you’ve worked with LadySkullshine Entertainment, and you are not listed on my About Me page, please forgive my oversight or memory lapse. Let me know so I can correct it. If you send me your link, I will add that as well.

When I revamped things this last time, I just didn’t have the extra time to go through every single link and verify that what I had was still current. They were from over 5 yrs ago.  I also didn’t want to leave some and not others. It would seem like I was picking favorites.  So I removed them all.

I’m probably just being a massive packrat by keeping so much information on that page, but it’s a part of my history. Until I find a better way to organize my site, it will have to remain there. It’s the era of when LadySkullshine originated and shined. 🙂

eBay Coins Update #4

As I gave this a title, I realized that I’ve made a few posts already regarding updates on my coin auctions. So in an effort to stay consistent, I will start numbering them.

If anyone is interested, I have eight coin auctions currently active on eBay. I listed them below, along with each item’s link to eBay.

We actually have a whole lot more available, but haven’t had a lot of extra time to get them listed. Our general inventory is shown on the Numismatics /Auctions page. Let me know if there’s anything you are interested in.

We do our best to provide as much information as we can with detailed pictures, while also keeping our prices low. None of our coins have been graded. If we are unsure of a coin error, we will notate that as well.

Follow my eBay seller page at https://www.ebay.com/usr/ladyskullshine.
We are now offering Free Shipping AND a Free Mystery Coin on each auction!

Paribus

Paribus helps you save money while shopping, and even afterwards. It’s affiliated with Wikibuy, which is part of Capital One. If you download the Wikibuy extension, it will check for coupon codes and the best price when you’re shopping online at certain stores. I’ve used it a few times to find the best deal.

Paribus also keeps track of your deliveries. When something arrives later than promised, Paribus will contact you advising that you may be eligible for compensation. I’ve done it twice this month. I often forget about this part since I’ve never had to utilize it, until recently.

My last two shipments from Amazon were late. The first one was slightly disappointing because I was looking forward to my new vacuum, but no big deal. The next day, I noticed that Paribus sent me a message. This directed me to their site to view the late delivery. They said I could contact Amazon via chat, while providing the link to do so. They even gave me the exact wording, including my order number. All I had to do was copy and paste the information into the chat. I received a $5 credit right away. They made it extremely quick and easy. I would guesstimate a few minutes total between receiving the email from Paribus and receiving a credit from Amazon. This happened again on another shipment and I was given $3 for that one.

I haven’t been able to locate a referral link or code to provide, but it’s still definitely worth sharing. Try it out https://paribus.co.

Metromile

I really dislike paying for car insurance. I completely understand the concept and it’s fabulous. My issue, is that I rarely drive so it seems ridiculous to pay so much money for it.

Months ago, I did multiple quotes online and spoke to others on the phone to get the best rate. The lowest I could get was about $60 a month through Root. So I tried them out for the six months and watched their rate increase to over $70 a month. Just before my policy ran out, we had purchased a second vehicle. We needed a backup but I cringed at having to add it to the insurance. I looked into it some options and managed to find a few companies that offered pay per mile plans. This was perfect!

After some research and quotes, I ended up signing up with Metromile. I chose the most basic coverage, state minimum. We are now paying a base rate per vehicle, plus the per mile rate. That ended up being $12.30 for the car and $18 for our truck. I had to pay the base rate up front for six months which was just over $100. Once you are set up, they send you an OBD reader so they can track your miles.

I just received my first bill after trying them for a month. It was $32.52 total, minus what I prepaid. So, I only owed $1.63 for the miles I drove. Now, that is even more fabulous. Not to mention, they also give me an Amazon gift card for each referral that I send them.

eBay Changes

I recently made a post that I was changing around my eBay inventory. I haven’t done that in a long time. I usually just set each one to automatically relist at the end of the auction. It’s easiest for me since I lose track of time and don’t keep up with them as much as I should. I get notifications whenever I get an offer or a bid.

With the new list of coins, also came some other changes. I have a few lots of coins that I placed in the Buy It Now, rather than doing regular auctions. I also trimmed down my pics and now have collages on instead. My fiance tends to get over zealous with the detailed pics.

Basically, these changes all took effect because he really doesn’t want to put a lot into it anymore, but I want to continue to sell coins. We have a fairly large collection and he spent a lot of time on them with researching and whatnot. I know that they aren’t graded, but for the price we are selling them, I would think that someone else can have it done and resell them for a profit. But I also know that it’s so hard to trust anyone and there’s a lot of scams out there. I wish there were more coin shops around that deals with errors especially. It can be tricky and frustrating.

Cha ching cha cha ching cha ching

The loud, annoying, embarrassing sounds coming from the Coinstar.
Even more amplified by my ridiculous anxiety.

When I start the Coinstar machine, it is very loud. I feel like everyone is looking at me. Then I begin dumping the clanky coins, which always seems to be never ending. I feel like I’m in my own world just watching the coins, pushing them around as they get stuck, refilling the tray, and so on. It’s almost like a trance. In the meantime, I’m having panic attacks. I get really warm and my face gets red. I feel like everyone knows I’m a mess.

It happens every time without fail. No matter how I approach it or what I tell myself. I’m not entirely sure which part of my mental issues causes it, but it’s not a fun experience. I hate it. I hate the anxiety that comes over me. I don’t care that every few grocery trips, I have to lug a heavy coffee canister full of change to the store. I’m not embarrassed to use the machine. I’m embarrassed that it affects me this way.

I appreciate that we have the change to begin with. Whenever my fiance is sorting and researching his boxes of coins, the less interesting ones go into the canister. It’s recycled money, but it makes me feel better to turn it into Amazon cash to be used on family and household items. Knowing that helps me to get through my silly bout of anxiety. I just wish I could control it better to begin with.

YouGov Pulse

I’ve been working on getting more companies added to the Financial Tips page whenever I have a moment. YouGov Pulse VPN seemed to be a great one to add next. It’s an app that just runs in the background of your phone. Once in a while, I get a notification to reconnect it. Somehow my phone drops off. I think it’s because I have another similar app running so they are conflicting, but it hasn’t affected my earnings.

That’s literally all you need to do to accumulate points. I also receive emails on occasion to take a survey. They aren’t too lengthy and they pay out a decent amount of points. Since I’ve downloaded this, I’ve made $15. That’s pretty good since the most I do is a random survey.

Try it out with my referral link below and let me know what you think.
When you sign up and complete 4 surveys, we each get 2,000 points. https://today.yougov.com/refer/WktHlJgHs8IR26fxWx8YPA/

Happy Mom’s Day!

I had a pretty good day yesterday. My 13 year old Scarlet had already bought me pink and purple petunias with her own money the day before. I took her out with me to ride in the car and we happened to see a flower tent. She used her allowance and found a buy one get one deal. Saving money, just like her mom lol. Then on Mother’s Day, my 20 year old Haley texted me first thing in the morning to brighten my day. Later on, Scarlet played the song “Mom” by Meghan Trainor as she sang along.

I’m so very grateful for my babygirls. They are my everything.
Without them, I wouldn’t be Mama Bear.

“Mom” By Meghan Trainor
Lyrics per AZLyrics

You might have a mom, she might be the bomb
But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine

She my world, she’s my heart and there’s no denying
I’m her girl no matter what even when I’m lying
She loving me, loving me, loving me, loving me, love
She love me like nobody else
I’m telling you, telling you, telling you, telling you all
She taught me how to love myself

You might have a mom, she might be the bomb
But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine

See we go way back, oh, I remember
All the times that I cried, she made me feel better
She loving me, loving me, loving me, loving me, love
She love me like nobody else
I’m telling you, telling you, telling you, telling you all
She taught me how to love myself

You might have a mom, she might be the bomb
But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Oh, how she loves me to the moon and back
That’s what she told me
Her love never ends, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine

I was just wanted to call you to tell you I love you
Aww, I love you, too
I miss you already
Aww, that’s so sweet, what’s going on?
Just writing songs, my mom song
Aww, I love you to the moon and back
My heart hurts, I love you so much
I love you more

You might have a mom, she might be the bomb
But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
You might have a mom, she might be the bomb
But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Oh, how she loves me to the moon and back
That’s what she told me

Her love never ends, she’s my best friend
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine
Baby, baby, ain’t nobody, no
Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine

Giftloop

This app has quickly become one of my favorites. You can make a few extra bucks doing quick tasks with little effort. The “coins” accumulate fairly quickly.

Giftloop has a continuous loop of screens that you swipe through. As you swipe, you come across several cat memes that you click on for 5 coins. In between the cats, there are also short videos to watch for 50 coins. You can complete offers, trials, install apps, take surveys, and more. They have a daily login bonus, along with other daily bonuses. For example, there’s a daily bonus for taking a survey. So, you get the coins for the survey itself, then collect an additional 750 bonus coins.

I have made $35 in Amazon gift cards since I’ve started using this app, near the end of last year. That’s not bad since I primarily just watch the videos, do an occasional survey, and collect my 5 coins whenever the cats pop up. Oh and I always have my phone set to collect coins whenever it’s charging. I would have cashed out more but I rarely complete the offers, apps, and trials. Since I’m really not testing out as many apps anymore, I think I will be using this one a little more often.

If you’re interested in trying Giftloop, use my referral link & let me know what you think: https://app.giftloop.co/r/93WYDMW.

MobileXpression

Per their site, “MobileXpression is a market research panel designed to understand the trends and behaviors of people using the mobile Internet.”

I love this app. I always brag about how easy it is to use and to make a few extra bucks. It takes very little time. You just install the app and let it run in the background of your phone. If I recall correctly, there is a security setting that you need to adjust for it to track properly. Once a week, I click on the app. It verifies that it is connected, then I collect my five points. That’s it. I’ve actually made $35 in Amazon gift cards, since the end of 2019. The amount would be higher, but when I first signed up I would always forget to click on it each week. Now I set a reminder for myself.

As much as I would love to provide a referral link or code, there isn’t any available. If you are interested in trying the app, I can send you an email. Although, I don’t know if there are any benefits for referrals. There is an affiliate program, but I haven’t signed up for it. You can also go to your app store, or their site to sign up at https://www.mobilexpression.com/About.aspx.

Try it out and let me know what you think, or if you have similar apps that you have used successfully. I am always looking for feedback.

Camp Hideaway Massacre (2018)

Beginning of 2018, my friend Skip asked me to star in his local horror movie. He said it was called “Camp Hideaway Massacre“. Of course, I said yes. Skip is a close friend and it would be fun. When the day came, I felt so nervous and awkward. I brought my oldest daughter Haley to the set to help out. She ended up in a scene with me. That was pretty cool. By the end of the night, my clothes were ruined and we were covered in a thick sticky bloody syrup. It was so gross. I didn’t exactly prepare very well. I threw some towels on the seat and drove back home. My daughter and I wondered how we would explain this if we got pulled over on the way. LOL

Jump ahead a bit later. I was told the movie was released. I bragged to everybody about it and that I am on IMDb. Meanwhile, I was both nervous and excited. I told everyone, but I didn’t watch it at all. I am extremely critical of myself and just couldn’t.

Now it’s 2020 and my youngest daughter is going through the YouTube channel and comes across the movie. It’s not the official final cut and I didn’t realize it at the time, but we finally watched it. It was hilarious to watch us and I actually wasn’t absolutely horrible. My Haley was pretty awesome too. Check it out if you get a chance.

Save The Fairy Homes!

Long, long ago…

I always told my girls when they were little “Don”t walk on the grass. You might step on a fairy. The mushrooms are their homes, so be especially careful.” We would smile, laugh, and look for mushrooms.

My ex father in law would then say “Step on all the mushrooms, kill all the fairies”. My girls would get all excited, run around, and smash the mushrooms. I would shout “Nooooo!!!!” and it would be too late. Except, when I said “no” it came out “Noah”. He would come back with “Noah? He built the ark!” LMAO!

Just the sight of a mushroom, brings back this rush of silly memories.

Mistplay: Games That Really Pay

I had already mentioned Mistplay here on my site in the past, but I really didn’t have a lot of information listed on the Financial Tips page. I just updated this, but I felt the need to spotlight it as well.

Mistplay is a gaming app that you would play games on.

The process is simple:
* Choose the game that interests you.
* Download via the app.
* Open the game and play.

Usually, you will need to adjust security settings so that the app can track your activity. If it doesn’t seem like you are accumulating points, check your phone’s settings.

This has actually become one of my favorite apps, surprisingly. While they are fun, I’m usually not a fan of playing video games. This is only because I feel it wastes a lot of time and I always need to be productive. This particular app has proven to very productive for me. I have made $70 in Amazon gift cards since I’ve started using it, less than a year ago. I’m about to cash out another $10.

Use my referral link to get a bonus 50 points. Let me know what you think.

Everyone’s results will vary. For the most accurate up to date information, see the individual company’s site/app. I’m in PA, US, using an Android phone and Windows laptop to access above mentioned. My only affiliation is that I have personally used these companies and share my referral links, which may pay an incentive.

My Points App

I just added My Points to the ongoing list of places to make a few bucks.

They’ve been around since 1996. I’ve been using the site since 2010. Back then, there was no app. I used to get tons of Barnes & Nobles gift cards just by clicking on emails and a few other quick tasks. Then I forgot about the site for a while, until I recently started using it again. Otherwise, my lifetime points would be much higher than 8,114.

Points don’t seem to accumulate as quickly as they used to for me, but it’s still worth it. It only takes a few moments to complete a few tasks like taking surveys, playing games, shopping via the app, clicking on emails, and more. Since I started using the app, I’ve made $10 in Amazon gift cards so far.

Try it out using my referral link, and let me know what you think.

For more ways to make a few bucks and save money, check out the Financial Tips page.

Good Morning Sunshine

Every day, is a new adventure.

I start off a lot of mornings singing “You Are My Sunshine” to my sleepy daughter. I don’t sing very well and I often mess up the words to every song. But my happy intentions are always there. I just watch my level of annoyance, especially when she’s just waking up.

Usually, she doesn’t get up right away. So I take out her puppy Bashy. I always search for the biggest, brightest dandelion to bring back to my babygirl. I return singing about the prettiest flower for the prettiest girl as she finally wakes up. This time, she thanks me and tells me that Bashy will enjoy munching on the dandelion later.

How do you like to start your day?

LadySkullshine Archives: Out Of Control

While doing my random cleanup of my website, I noticed I actually have a lot of information in the LadySkullshine Entertainment archives section as well a lot of archived pics. I haven’t looked at it in so very long. I cleaned it up some, but I’m not finished. I do everything in stages. My ADHD and OCD are always trying to compete. So anything that I get done is an accomplishment really.

Anyways, I plan to downsize that portion of my site a bit. I don’t think anyone will mind or miss it really. I feel like it’s there more for my own memorabilia, honestly. It was such a long time ago and I lost touch with 98% of that part of my life.

I need to make room for so many new things to come. I never know what that will be. My path and interests change often.

I appreciate everyone who has followed me along the way.

The Law Of Attraction

According to The Law Of Attraction.com:

“Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually.”

The basic premise is: Whatever you send out into the universe is what you will get back.

Think happy thoughts and good things will come. If you are plagued with negative thoughts, more doom will come to you. It’s as basic as that, but also somewhat complicated.

A lot of times things happen and we immediately say “Oh, what a coincidence!” and then laugh about it. That’s the law of attraction. Think about a song and see how long until you hear it randomly. Or try thinking about a person and they may cross your path or call you out of nowhere. There’s so many things we can create in our lives just by focusing our thoughts. Thoughts really are things.

You have to also believe. It’s part of the three step process: Ask, Believe, Receive.

It’s like the Genie in the Bottle concept. Think about what you would like more of in your life and Ask for that. Then Believe you deserve it and imagine that it is yours already. Have faith that whatever force it may be, it will bring you what you want. This could be the Genie if you like, or God, or the universe, or whatever it is that you have belief in. Then, pay attention and you will notice that you will Receive what you have focused on. If you are thinking about bills, more bills will come. So watch what your thoughts. This may take practice and tweaking until you get more used to the idea.

I have personally found that the law of attraction is a reality.

I know it all seems ridiculous. I hear it all the time. Which is why I rarely discuss it. It’s usually considered a big joke to mostly everyone I encounter. So, I keep it to myself. I don’t let anyone else’s negativity affect my world. I know first hand that it works. I’ve witnessed it naturally, as well as after testing the concept.

Of course, I’m no expert. But I have read, listened to, and watched any and all of the books that I could find regarding this. One of which, is called The Secret. It is probably the most well known books/movies on the subject. I actually have multiple copies of it. One to mark up, one to keep nice, and one to lend out if needed. It’s not rocket science, but it’s definitely a mind game to get through and to remain consistent. My mind is usually racing non stop in a hundred different directions. It can be difficult to weed out the thoughts that are hindering. I definitely know the struggle.

Even if you don’t believe in the Law of Attraction, it’s still a universal law that is happening all around you.

Besides, why not just try be more positive anyway? It feels better and makes others happy too. It only makes sense that more positive things should come. If they don’t, do be discouraged. There’s always a sparkle of silver, even in the worst situations. Stay positive and don’t let anything pull you down. At some point, you’ll find yourself on a better path to more positive things coming your way.

What experiences have you had with the Law Of Attraction?

Sparkles

Another one of my nicknames is “Sparkles”. I love sparkles! Plus, I am generally a very happy, unicorns and rainbows kind of person. I do my best to stay positive no matter what.

Oh, I definitely have my moments of quite the opposite. Also, I recently went through quite a bit of devastation. So I did lose my sparkle for a bit. But overall, one of my mottos really is Smile, Sparkle, Shine!

I recall when I used to work in the office and at the lab, I was always the annoying happy girl with ADHD. I would be at work as early as 6 AM, chugging massive amounts of caffeine. I used to get a large iced latte with three extra turbo shots every single morning before work. That’s when I was called “Turbo Sparkles”. I stayed happy and bouncy all day. The more annoyed my coworkers were, the more I wanted to share my happiness. This was not quite appreciated by everyone.

I never thought it was a bad thing, so I never understood why I always caught so much flack for it. Everyone is always so busy being gretzy about everything and bringing everyone else down with them. I’d rather be the weird happy girl that people think is oblivious. I’m really not, I just refuse to get sucked into all that negativity. It’s really not worth it.

Smile! Sparkle! Shine!
