A Few Updates

A lot has been going on so I haven’t had a lot of time to even grasp my thoughts long enough to share anything here with anyone. But, I have actually been doing a lot of updates around my site.

I added a new page called Smile Sparkle Save. It’s really just a table of contents type of page for the financial section of my site. I’ve made quite a few updates throughout those pages as well. They include Financial Basics, Extra Money, Savings Tips, Scan Receipts, and Freebies.

I also recently started adding a few picture pages. If anyone isn’t aware, I used to do a lot of photography and promoting of several local bands in my area. That’s how this site even originated. It’s focus has since changed quite a bit. At first, I moved anything LadySkullshine related to a tiny section on the About page. After a little bit of thought though, I decided that I would add a bunch of my old pictures. I have a lot more to add when I have a moment.

Please take a look around and check out the new look so far. Let me know what you think. If you get lost or want to discover more pages, visit the Site Map.

Thank you!

Be Back Soon

I have been MIA here lately. I’ve done a few things behind the scenes here and there, but that’s about it. I’ve been extremely involved in a lot of other projects and things around the house. Once I get a few things taken care of, I really want to make a lot of updates here.

We got a new mattress for my daughters’ room, so we did some rearranging. Then we got a new cage for our pet rats. It’s a double setup so we can have both the girls and boys in it without them having babies. That was a bit of a catastrophe at first to put together. I got a bit overwhelmed and had a meltdown. Eventually we got it together and it is actually pretty awesome.

I’ve been doing some more reading lately too. Reading, research, and some tarot too. I actually read a lot. I used to read actual books, now it’s all online research. I used to listen a lot to audiobooks too. Every night at bedtime. I’m interested in a lot of different things. Nothing non fiction. Not since Stephen King back in the early 90’s maybe. As far as tarot, it’s just my Angel Guidance deck. Nothing major.

I’ve been trying to get on the ball with my couponing. I also definitely got a ton of freebie items in the meantime. Foot rests, coasters, cocktail shaker, wine tumbler, gold necklaces, bracelet and necklace set, tie dye kit, t-shirt, weighted blanket, plush robe, skull apron, keto bars, resistance bands, tactical flashlights, tote bag, rechargeable lighter, oven mitt set, pajamas, and more.

If you want to follow my madness, I try to post daily updates in my Facebook group and Instagram called Smile, Sparkle, Save!. I share the freebies I receive, ways to save money, and also ways to earn gift cards.

It’s Been A While

I feel like I’m so very far behind on everything. Not having a laptop for about two weeks definitely set me back quite a bit. I think after that, everything just pretty much snowballed out of control. My last post was on January 8th. I knew it was a while, but didn’t realize it was that long.

I feel like a lot has gone on since then.

To start, a few of our pet rats have found new homes. The remaining ones are getting quite large, especially the boys. The girls haven’t tried to escape lately. I think this last cage repair might have finally did it. If you like, you can follow Malakai_the.rat.king‘s adventures on Instagram.

I haven’t been couponing. I slacked with scanning my receipts. However, I have been ordering lots of freebie items. I am in the process of organizing some upcoming projects, and I’m reevaluating of a lot of things in the financial realm. I’ve also been making some updates to my site.

I have a ginormous list of so many things I want to get done. I know the majority of it will just get bounced around in my head for quite a while. I have trouble remembering, or even retaining a thought process. It’s pretty bad. It doesn’t help that I’ve been out of my ADHD meds for over a week. My OCD doesn’t stand a chance these days.

I just hope to keep up my momentum. At least, things are still getting done.

So Many Free Items Already This Year

We are one week into the new year, and I’ve already bought a bunch of things on Amazon.

In my defense, most of it was FREE. In fact, out of the last ten orders, I didn’t pay for nine of them. I have received a CD storage case, wine stoppers, a hoodie, gloves, several iPhone chargers, an 80 piece tackle box, a chakra bracelet, and two towels. If anything, I paid tax. I didn’t even have to leave a review either!

I’ve been getting free merchandise for over a year now. I started out by providing reviews in exchange for products. Things like jewelry, electronics, kitchen gadgets, household items, auto accessories, clothing, pet items, office supplies, and so much more. In October of last year, Amazon removed my ability to review. It was my own fault, because it goes against their guidelines.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission find items that don’t require a review.

I already had a handful listed on the Freebies page, but I actually have been working with a few others as well. Before I share any resources, I like to personally have a successful transaction first. Some items I received because I belong to particular sites. To get the other items, I was referred to agents to place an order. I belong to several groups that will share deals, as well. I also have developed some connections over time.

I want to share as much as I can to help others.

I may post things that are no longer available, but I still want to brag about my finds. A lot things I get are on the fly, literally. I stumble across things in my Facebook newsfeed, and get Facebook messages, texts, emails, what’s app, telegram, and more. I skim through everything to find relevant deals and freebies. I buy what I can, log it in my spreadsheet, then go about my day. At some point, I collect my thoughts to try to share what I’ve snagged.

For the companies I have dealt with, see the Freebies page. Eventually, I will add my other resources, like Facebook groups, sellers/agents, and more. Please check back for updates. Thank you!

Bath Bomb Freebie

Since I can no longer write reviews on Amazon, I’ve been on a mission to find any no review items. I’m testing a few at the moment, and will add them here soon.

In the meantime, I just had to share what I received today.

I recently found a bath bombs giveaway offer on Facebook. There was a referral from someone in one of the groups that I belong to. I applied, ordered for $29.63, and had my money back of $27.95 shortly after.

For $1.68 (tax), I received this big box of 12 giant fruit scented bath bombs. I think I did well, and my daughter is super happy.

Free Items From Test Market

I absolutely love Test Market!

Test Market is a third party site that offers Amazon items from vendors that need to increase their audience. They list the items for sale, along with the Amazon link. All you need to do is apply for an item, order it, then submit your order number. Before you even receive it, you will have your refund.

  1. Check the amount remaining
  2. Apply for the item
  3. Click the button to order on Amazon
  4. Return to the Test Market site
  5. Submit your order number
  6. Receive refund
  7. Receive item

There isn’t a huge selection of items, and they go quickly. Make sure you sign up for notifications. I got lucky and was able to get a few items. I ordered a manicure set, exercise ball, Christmas toys, candy jars, and a back scrubber.

Try out Test Market with my referral link, and I will get $1. Thanks!

Get Paid To Review Items

***10/22/20 Update: This was originally posted a few months ago. I unpublished it in error.

I love to shop in general, especially on Amazon. I get packages several times a week. Most of which, I get my money back after I have reviewed them.

I was skeptical at first. I’m still checking into other sites as well. So far, there are three companies that I have had successful transactions with. There has only been one time that I didn’t get paid and it was my own fault. I didn’t act fast enough to qualify for my refund. I stay on top of it now to ensure I get my money back. It can be a process to keep track of, but honestly for me it’s been worth it.

Each site has specific rules that must be followed in order to have a successfully paid transaction. For the most part, they have the same basic idea. You would find the item you are interested in and apply for it, then purchase it on Amazon. Once you receive it, review the item. When all the terms are met, you will then be paid up to 100% of the amount you originally paid. Some also pay the PayPal fees.

So far, I have received the following items to review for cash back:

Clear Desk Mat
Metallic Markers
Laptop Stands
Laptop Fan
Jeweler’s Loupe
iPhone Power Cord
2 Sets Of Wireless Earbuds
Bluetooth Radio
Temperature/Humidity Thermostat
Kitchen Scissors
Child Proof Corner Guards
Mug Warmer
Bedside Organizer
Satin Sheet Set
Nightgown
Swimsuit
Beanie
Cami

If you’re interested in being paid to review items, click on my referral links found on the Financial Tips page.

Everyone’s results will vary. For the most accurate up to date information, see the individual company’s site/app. I’m in PA, US, using an Android phone and Windows laptop to access above mentioned. My only affiliation is that I have personally used these companies and share my referral links, which may pay an incentive.

$400+ In Free Products, So Far

***10/22/20 Update: This was originally posted a few months ago. I unpublished it in error.

I have mentioned to a few of my friends and family members that I review items on Amazon. In return, I get my money back for those items. Not one of them have been the slightest bit interested. In hearing about it, and much less in participating themselves. I completely get it. It’s not for everyone.

The two responses I have received was that I make it seem so easy and they don’t have the money to pay for the items in the first place.

I get the money part, however there are things like phone chargers that I would think that anyone could use for free.

And well, it is pretty easy at this point. I’ve done all the work of researching and testing the companies that I deal with. They wouldn’t be on my site if I didn’t already do this and had successful transactions.

It really is a simple process.

Basically, you sign up for the site you want to try out. After your account is set up, you can choose the items you are interested in. In most cases, you need to accumulate points to be used towards your purchases. That can be done by checking in daily and various other tasks. Some deals will also give you points. Once your request is accepted, you can purchase it on Amazon. Follow any specific guidelines regarding leaving a review on their site, as well as on Amazon. If all steps were followed properly within the timelines given, you will then receive your money back.

I’ve been doing this for 4 months & so far, I have received the following:

* Clear Desk Mat * Metallic Markers * Laptop Stands * Laptop Fan * Jeweler’s Loupe * iPhone Power Cord * 2 Sets Of Wireless Earbuds * Bluetooth Radio * Temperature/Humidity Thermostat * Kitchen Scissors * Child Proof Corner Guards *
2 Pack Of Maze Puzzles * Mug Warmer * Bedside Organizers * Satin Sheet Set * Nightgown * Swimsuit * Beanie * Cami * 3 Pack Of Cooling Shirts *

That’s a total of $405.89 of useful items that I received my money back from!

I think it’s worth the little bit of time that it takes. If you’re interested in getting items for free in return for your review, you can try out the ones that I use. They are located on the Financial Tips page.
